So how do the R1s compare to the Hoosier R6s?

less performance until 5-6 cycles, then they hold out for about 5 more useful cycles. Net is that they are a better value, but will not be what you set your fastest lap on.

They are just as fast with a more gradual fall off

not in my experience, maybe the S model (which I have not tried). Definitely not close to new hoosiers, maybe 90%.

For those that heat cycle, curious to know if you have a specific temperature target.

Thanks to the OP. Good info on this thread. Hopefully, this question will fit in as well. What do you guys about switching DOT's from side-to-side to get more wear/performance out of them?

This one came back from a couple years ago, and I am just seeing the resurrection.

I ended up running them one session and letting them sit for 24 hours while I ran old tires. I have not tried just running them hard from stickers yet.

I've gone through a few sets now and I agree with others... on our 944's the Hoosier R6 has a slight advantage for the first 2 or 3 cycles, then they are even until the R6 falls off, at which point the BFG still has maybe 6 or 8 cycles left. Most of our guys were on the R6 but the BFG really is a good alternative for club racing and a couple more folks run them now. I do rotate them on the rims around 10-12 cycles to even out wear.

If you're a racer, Jackson Motorsports.
