Just incredible how fast they moved away in such a short time. You weren't exactly hanging about looking for a parking spot!! They're cars must have a bunch more hp/tq surely.

Here is a video from a few years ago of Leh at RA in an RSR. Watch his first lap, T5, opposite lock on the wheel. Amazing car control...

Not many people saw it because he was so far out front on Friday, but I was up on Spectator Hill and watched Leh straight-line the right hander at the bottom of the Esses just before Turn 5. All four wheels in the air, dirt flying. He popped out the other side and never lifted. As David Hobbs would say, "He crashed, but he didn't hit anything."
Unfortunately I threw away what would have been a great lap.... it is very difficult to warm the tires up before I catch traffic so the fun starts were perfect for me to get a good clean lap in with warm tires... I knew that was my shot at a 19 so i went for it... it probably would have been a low 20. A 19 is a bit optimistic... Anyways just went into the esses to hot and had a push and chose dirt over stratteling the curb...
The 997 is faster for sure I just never got a good lap in.. My fastest lap, the 1:21.7 was in the first session of the weekend on harder compound Michelins that were over 2 years old... for the fun race I put fresh soft Michelins on... but unfortunately had the off...
Thanks for posting the vid Chris!!

I may have still been able to see them if they were in a "standard" 997 cup!
***** out lap in RSR = 1:20; Corys car = low 1:25 maybe high 24, my car low 26.

I had Leh's Brumos teammate Andrew Davis helping to set up my ex-Grand Am car. He got some 1:25s in it on Thurs, he was a second or two faster in a stock GTC4 car a few years ago. I was faster in my GTC4 car in '08 than I could get this year in my GTA2 car (a work in progress).
I think Cory qualified on the pole for the Enduro but he may have gotten to grid late as he started at the back. He finally caught me for 2nd place after about 20 laps and went right to the pits. When I came out of the pits I was right behind his co-driver! Then we battled back and forth for 33 laps, our last two laps were 1:28s, I was just trying to keep clean and ahead of him till the checker.
Chris, too bad you missed the enduro, hope your car is ok. You could have had a good 3-way battle for 2nd overall with me and Cory/D Baum.
If I had Leh as a co-driver (in his old car) maybe we could have contested for the overall win

Thanks for posting Chris! Great video, very smooth driving. I like the brake pedal tap going into the braking zones
If you are ok with it Chris, I will try to dig the laptop out of the trailer today and post up some minimum speeds for your fast lap. Or better yet see if I can do a screen capture of the Motec. I'll send you a text to make sure you are ok with it first.
My and Leh's cars definately have more power than Chris' cup. Not really a fair comparison but hey, we will take any advantage we can get.
Gota do something to keep Chris behind us.
I had the same problem as Leh. It took too many laps to get heat in the tires to really max out a lap time in my car. It was faster every lap from the green until we started catching traffic. The fun race was the best as far as traffic but we were on the same set of tires we had been running since the first session. We never went out on a light fuel load on a new set of tires for a qualifying run becasue of the weather. Was planning on doing that Saturday morning. I think a mid 24 is very do-able in our car. I have some good video of the rain race and am trying to recover some of the dry practices that I will try to post up in the next day or so.
