I mentioned previously that the yellow corvette that held second most of the race got screwed when he and Long came around a tight right hander on the final lap and a car spun in front of Long. Patrick dodged him and cleared by inches as he said leaving the corevette with no where to go but into the now sideways S2000.
Well I just read the Timing sheets and that S200 GTS car was 5 seconds slower than any other GTS car on the track, and 10 seconds off the class leaders

He probably ran on a provisional and based on his lap times and involvement with an on track altercation, I am going to assume he wont be running this afternoon

Versus will show it on the full TV broadcast.
Congrats to Pat Long for finishing at the top for both races
EXCELENT job to GMG RACING and James Sofronas who posted the FASTEST race lap of the weekend with a 1:15.74 besting Porsche Factory driver Pat Long's time of 1:15.86, on his way to capturing a 3rd and a 2nd for the weekend, putting him in 2nd place in the Championship Standings heading into Long Beach.

What a great race. Have to see re-broadcast now to see how Long got around Sofranos. Also missed what happened to Pobst but glad they stayed green for those last laps when he was stuck on track.
Long Beach should be fun.

Much better race, but definitely still some coverage issues. Not only did they miss that pass, they totally missed that the Jetta that ended up on the tires took out Ernie and the Mantis Racing Cayman. Not a single mention of him going out from the announcers. The guy is GTS rookie of the year last year and he may as well be invisible.

According to Tim Suddard (Publisher of Grassroots Motorsports Magazine and media collaborative with World Challenge), Greg Creamer was calling the race from a 10X10 EZ Up with a TV showing shoddy coverage. Supposedly the whole live coverage thing was a cluster....! Hopefully the post production coverage will be better. Catch it on the 9th of next month on VS.
Oh, and congrats to Pat Long on the double win. He will be at all of the events bar one, does anyone think he still could win the championship?

So if he misses that, I highly doubt he can win the championship.

PS: Gotta love Long pushing that GTS car (Dodge?) the hell out of his way on the last lap with James up his ***. Way more fun when you don't have to pay for your repairs....
