Default Franz Blam Racing and the last 935

All,

When we saw the "Ground Pounders" article in the April, 2011 issue of Excellence, we thought it would be cool to add an older article from the February, 1984 issue of Panamera about the same 935. In addition to the article, there is a video clip of Johannes Van Overbeek lapping the car at Laguna Seca from the Excellence piece.

Sorry for the technical difficulties, Brian. While we're trying to sort it out over here, you can check it out the story in the 911 turbo section. This link should work for the video:

Thanks!

Thank you very much for posting this. I really enjoyed watching those videos!! Johannes looked liked he was actually flogging the 935 pretty good.

Great stuff!! Can't believe a couple of times when the later model ground effects cars went past. It's all relative I guess. Gearbox reminds me of a tractor though. Made life hard.

hey Franz, I saw that 935 up for sale a few times at a very reasonable price compared to the German (Kremer or factory) 935s. Is it still available?

Great video. I can't believe how hard it accelerates! .6g in 3rd gear (I think that's 3rd gear... le mans shift pattern?)

Love the sound. Watch the boast gauge to see how the power comes on, these are not easy cars to drive.

Interesting, new cup cars are just about the same in lap times or even faster with 250-400HP less.
