Grassroots NASCAR
I'm not generally one for the 3 hours of left-turn only stuff, but this is a pretty good story in my mind.

3rd-gen Michigan racer goes to Daytona 250K in debt with no sponsors, a 4 year old car, an engine his dad built, and one set of tires. His brother drives for Penske and they draft together and he manages a 5th place in the qualy race, so he starts 12th in the big dance ahead of some truly big names. The guy literally built half of the car himself.
The community comes to his support with places to stay, tires, crew, and more for the race tomorrow. This is the racing scene I know and love... nice to see it alive even at the highest levels. I know who I am rooting for tomorrow!
