Bob, got a real strong buy offer on my early 911 race car from a really good guy in Germany so it went back to its motherland. Wanted to move up a few classes so got this 1995 993 as the new ride. Sorting it out right now.

Wings, defined as an aerodynamic device with a leading edge, are not allowed on a "PCA stock" class car unless it came with one from the factory ala GT3s. 993s did not, and if you want to run in G you either have to run a whale tail, remove the wing element, or like some did in the past, tilt the wing down until it touches the deck and tape the leading edge closed. Your wing is legal if you decide to move up to prepared and run in H class.

What groups are you going to race? We do most of the PBOC and will be doing some NASA and PCA races.

Thats exactly what I did when I was in G. I tilted my 3.8 wing down and taped the leading edge. Great when you need a lot of drag induced rear down force. On faster tracks I would remove it for less drag on long straights. Probably made little to no differance either way but felt I was doing something.

IIRC, the Aerokit 1B wing is legal for a G class 993.

Mark, I do not recall that being a US option. What 993 model was it available on?

I dunno, but I read it here, so it must be true.

Seriously, a number of G (old D) class racers have used this wing, and it was deemed legal by the powers-that-be.

John,

I am one second faster than you. I hope I can hold that margin when we race again!
