Another report says numerous fractures and some internal injuries. Let's hope he is ok. My guess - he will miss much, if not all of the season.

I hope he recovers fully, but with the season only 1 month away....

I remember reading somewhere about 6 weeks ago that Renault F1 did not want him to do the Rally so close to the start of the season.

And NO LEWIS SATO WOULD NOT BE A GOOD FIT AT RENAULT

Say's who?

I think a poll on who could replace the Pol is needed.

You really have to feel for Kubica. He had some bad crashes and bad luck.

I hope the Italian reporters got it totally wrong in the video, they said his arm was amputated, had severe brain injury, and a broken Femur.

Last I heard was that although not life threatening, they seem to be career ending. I pray that's not the case either.

Good guy, good driver...I pray for a full recovery.

Btw Renault's third drover; Bruno Senna

It looks as though that page has been removed.

I pray that this is not the case. Great driver.....it would be a terrible shame. Latest reports state...

"Robert Kubica has been diagnosed with multiple fractures to his right arm, leg and hand," his Lotus Renault team said in a statement. "He is currently undergoing surgery at the Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure."

Really sucks for Kubica. A decent car this season would probably have put him consistently on the podium. Anybody have Hulkenburg's phone number?

I'm amazed that he's allowed to rally given the risks involved.

http://www.planet-f1.com/news/3213/6...is-very-strong

His Lotus Renault GP team confirmed that Kubica suffered "multiple fractures to his right arm, leg and hand" in the incident, and he has undergone surgery this afternoon.

Although there were fears that the Renault driver would lose his right hand, his manager Daniele Morelli revealed that is not the case.

However, it remains to be seen whether Kubica will recover complete functionality.

"Unfortunately the impact with the guardrail caused serious harm," Morelli told reporters outside the hospital.

"He has been diagnosed with multiple fractures to his leg and right arm, especially complications related to his right hand. We shall see later if the operation was successful.

"The clinical picture is not easy. We expect to make the necessary assessments tonight.

"The surgeons are trying to restore the functionality of his right hand. We must now think about the muscle function, but Robert is very strong and will succeed.
