Default 964 1992 Cup Car

Someone just offered me a 1992 964 Cup car with 400 miles. It is an Andial car. I am getting more details. I don't know how to establish value. At 400 miles it should have no significant history (unless it crashed). If it never raced is it worth a lot as a museum piece? Can you 964 cup guys discuss this with me?

I assume you mean a USA cup car? I think a recent comp for a perfect, showroom version is over $90K?

It will be really, really hard to price that car. With 400 miles, it is likely the only USA cup with so few miles. I would guess its worth at least in the $100k range, possibly more.

I don't disagree. However, wouldn't that be to a museum or the equivalent? I would think that the real value is in the history of a winning car. The car is quoted at about $175k, as CWay27 said above.

We are talking about the Carrera Cup USA, right? Have you had a chance to comb through the information available at www.carreracupusa.org? That is the PCA registry site for these cars. To gain an appreciation for the history of the cars, the June 8, 1992 AutoWeek and the February 1993 Excellence articles are recommended, but all of the materials there are good. The February 2004 Excellence article offers a retrospective and concludes with this:
With their RS pedigree and a unique history born out of the trials and tribulations of Porsche in the early nineties, these 45 Carrera Cup Editions will remain among the most intriguing 911s ever offered for sale in the U.S.
Since the race series for these cars never materialized, their value will not be linked to their race history in the way that a Euro cup might be.
