Default Stilo Helmet ?

So I recently got a brand new Stilo ST4W helmet. order the peak visor for it. THe peak came with a new set of mounting hardware.

no instructions.

You would THINK this would be pretty straight forwards....but no. I spent the better part of 3 hours trying to figure out how to get this thing mounted to no avail.

So anyone out there with this helmet that could help, it would be HUGELY appreciated.

thanks
sean

Call HMS motorsports the importer for the Stilo helmets.

Sean, where did you buy your Helmet? First source you should always go (or be able to go) is the store you bought it from.

SportsCarBoutique.

I emailed them and they said they will try and find some instructions to send to me....but this forum is full of people with all sorts of experience and info, so I thought I would ask here as well.

Also, I'm impatient.

Looking at the picture, it looks like it's just 4 screws. Can't help more than that.

It's not....that would have been nice.

It's a double ended screw (one screw fastens to the other....inline) and separate set of regular screws (shorter than the ones that came with the helmet...which makes no sense to me) and a set of 6 rubber washer. Two wide ones that look like the photos you see of the helmet with the visor mounted...and 4 really, really tiny ones that look nothing like any of the pics.

Plus you're supposed to be able to mount this peak visor with the shield still in place and be able to move the shield normally. So I'm guessing some of the original hardware is still required. (Plastic sliders, etc.)

How everything fits together is not obvious in the least :\

At this time of year you must be going ice racing I'm interested in your experience as I have been looking at the same helmet. Good luck.

The Stilo helmets are VERY nice and the way they integrate things like radios, drink bottles, etc. into the helmet is really slick. They do things that many of the other companies don't and if you want those features then the price isn't as bad as it would seem.

Got the instruction! and I was WAY off on how I was trying to do screw it all together.

My head is shaped for Arai helmets...and I have 2 Arai's from racing motorcycles...but I wanted a motorsports helmet, not a motorcycle helmet and the Arai isn't the only/best helmet in motorsports. (I do feel they are best helmets for motorcycles though)

They Stilo fit my head really well and as Joe mentioned, their integrated attachments allow you to take this helmet in multiple/various motorsports events. So I can use it for open wheel, wrc, club car, etc.

Not that I do all of that now, but I have some options to race (loose term) in a bunch of different events and cars over the next year so I wanted a helmet that could jump from one to the other.

That and I love the look of the ST4W.

Quick Reply: Stilo Helmet ?
