If you install some type of HP clutch you should upgrade the pressure plate too. They've proven to be a weak link. I run Sach's sport disc and haven't had any issues in over a year of hard racing. I'd worry more about keeping the trans oil cool and running a HD oil in it....

This is all the type of good info I was hoping for...thanks guys.
Up here in NE Ohio its Steinels that has the nod as the best Porsche shop around. They used to do the annual NASA tech on my Audi.
I ran across lnengineering web site while doing some research....seems they have the answer for the oil pan, and also explained why just adding an X51 pan will NOT do the trick.
John H????? Not the same John H who raced a yellow older tub 993 bodied Porsche with NASA great lakes region is it??? If so you might remember me running a silver Audi that was a sister car to (and built by) Motorkars Audi.

Will you guys be going to the NASA Nationals at Mid Ohio this year ? I'm hoping for a big turnout for GTS this year there. I will have two cars I built there, one old 996 for GTS4, and a new car for this season for GTS3.

David,
Glad to see you get a real GTS car! Ther are a bunch of Northern Ohio GTS guys, mostly GTS1 but a sprinkling of GTS3-4. Shoot me a PM and I can help direct you. Sounds like you have the making of a really nice ride.

You deserved to win ST2, it really was yours, and yes it would be have been very fun in GTS4. So come on to Mid O this year ! Start talking to the other NASA guys now and get a group of GTS/ST cars coming over and lets make it a true National event with West Coasters, Midwesters, and us little old racers from Texas !
And Globe, I already counted on you being there !

I got it home from NC thru Virginia and the freak snow storm in the south last weekend. Yep, I drove it back to Ohio. It goes on the rack friday so I can pull the wheels and find out just what a GT3 suspension consists of.

Hi, glad to see you in a Porsche...we have a great GTS gang here in NE Ohio...like John said most of us run GTS 1...I used to race GTS 4 (poorly I might add!). Steinels do a great job, I'm sure I'll see your car up there!

I'm sure I know a lot of you, or at least seen a lot of you guys on track. Don't forget I raced GTS2 for a couple years and USTCC before that in a silver Audi A4. Is Fred Baker still racing???? If so glad to hear it. I'm running time trials this summer as I build the car so I will see you GTS guys again....just not on track. I don't think it to be a wise decision to go W2W racing in a car I am unfamiliar with. I do however reserve the right to change my mind half way through the season
