Default Coolsuit drain fittings

Just discovered something funny. It was time to replace my in-line refrigerator water filter, which is a GE GXRTQ, and I realized the fittings are the same as the fittings on my Cool Shirt and cooler. I paid +/- $40 for a special "Drain Kit" and this comes with enough fittings (once you remove the males from the exhausted filter) to do the job. I'm ordering two spares and will eat the extra $3 per filter to get new females and have extras if something breaks..

Hmmm, GE discontinued that model, have to figure something else out.. but at least I got some refills off another site! Home Depot may have some left in stock, just be sure to get the kit, not the refill..

Those fitting are almost certainly John Guest.

I have them for the water filter connections for my hard plumed espresso machine.

You can get those fittings from http://www.mcmaster.com/ pretty cheaply as well.

It would take less time to list out what you can't get from McMaster...they have everything!

I bought extra mcmaster carr fittings and just plug them into the suit or cooler and then add in compressed air and blow water vapor out until pretty dry. At start of season I put an ounce of bleach in a qt of water and run that through the system, then some water, and I'm ready for the season.

I like the quickcouplings site but not sure of the size. Is it 5/16? You need two male and two female to cover any combination of draining IIRC..

Spaz S1 original. No timer, but I leave the main boiler on at night, then hit the steam first thing in am. Mazzer grinder. I've had to do a few things to it over the years, but its an awesome machine. We should share notes on espresso. I'll PM you what I buy, so as to not overtake this thread.

Sorry Gary!

Hey Gary, HERE is a link to the machine Ben and I have. This site has many others but the double boiler units are my favorite. You can pull shots and steam milk at the same time. You have to set up a dedicated 20a circuit to run both boilers simultaneously. A Pro or Prosumer bean grinder is a must for espresso.

Re: fittings. Do you have a water filter install between the cooler and the shirt? Why? I flush mine after each use and run Isotropol alcohol through the lines to prevent biological growth.
You can press the blue thing and flush the shirt when the pump is running but it take forever.
