Default Boxster Racers Spring Rate Changes - Experience

I am looking to speak with other folks who have Boxsters that they are racing (or even Caymans) and have changed their spring rates. From memory, I believe the Spec Boxster's are running 450# F and 500# R, is that correct? If so has anyone tried 600 F and 700 R or any other combination?

Regarding the Cayman Interseries, does anyone know what spring rates they are using front to rear?

Now I know in a perfect world we boxster and cayman drivers would be changing spring rates based on the track we go to (higher for smooth, lower for bumpy) but I doubt many are changing them for different tracks. Like me i think its "run what you brung" regarding spring rates.

What have you seen, used, and like.

Rick I think you scared everyone away from reponding ...

OK so I ran the 08' season in a Spec Box with the spec 450/500 springs and PSS9's. The stock shocks were the limiting factor in the SB's, they really aren't suited to the task. The PSS10's when revalved for 700/900 springs (996 Spec) are a completely different shock and very raceable....

Your Boxster with the 3.6, big wing, and hopefully some real racing shocks could easily stand more spring than the SB's. I would suggest you try it incrementally, what rates are you running now and with what shocks?

I have been running PSS9's with 450/500. I am installing Moton's as we speak and am thinking of changing rates to 700/900. But before I purchase new springs I thought I'd ask some of the folks who have tried different rates. I'd like to hear from Rick....what say you

Don't know diddly bout boxsters, but 450/500 to 700/900 is a BIG jump, plus going from a 10% f/r bias to a 30% f/r bias. How about trying 600/700 first?

My wrench is currently building a 3.8- 99' boxster for a client. They expect it to weigh in around 2600 w/200lb. driver (honest). I just called and they're starting with 750/900 springs . He doesn't think you need a 200lb differential between front and rear on a boxster platform, perhaps only 100 as the balance is more evenly split. Lots of testing to follow....

Box has basically 996 front suspension on all 4 corners. So I would put 4 996 Cup corners on the car with 4 equal Cup front /tender spring combos with 4 Cup front shocks. Very cheap and I bet it will work great anywhere. If You use the bilstiens You can always have them revalved and they are plentiful plus very cheap to rebuild,revalve....
Or Motons, Sachs JRZ etc...
