Probably becuase we are still all over the map. No one seems to agree.

We run 1000/1200 on the CaymanSpec and it works great for Laguna Seca and AAA (smooth). Sucks at Buttonwillow (bumpy) and is OK at Willow Springs. Our issue is more likely with dampers than rates.

Cheers,

Unless you have all kinds of aero loads, I would tend to agree with Glen about the equal spring rates, front & rear. I used to run my 914 that way and it worked pretty well.

Can't imaging Buttonwillow being more bumpy than the old Summit Point paving & my RSA worked well with 1400+ lb springs, but you are right in that it was all about the shock adjustments.

Wheel rate my friend, wheel rate. 1400 lb springs on a 911 are going to end up with a different wheel rate than 1400 lb springs on a Boxster.

True, but not in the front. They are fairly similar there, but what I was more trying to illustrate was that his issue with the 1000 lb springs at Buttonwillow probably could be cured by proper shock adjustment (assuming that they are adjustable).

I'm still running the default PSS9 springs so I would be happy to take anyone's cast offs

Or Motons, Sachs JRZ etc...
That sounds good Glen, but it won't work....the rear shocks are not the same design as the front.....Plus, there is an axle running thru there..so front
uprights won't work in the back...

How have you been buddy?? Hear your running the 24 again!! Good stuff..!!

We have 4 Boxsters running in the Grand AM this year...

Thanks for all the input. I have made my decision and feel confident that it will be light years better than the PSS9's. Now I wait and hope that FedEx delivers the goods on Friday so I can get it all back together.
