Default Road Racing Clinic, Thunderhill, 30 Jan 2011

Hey everyone,

I want to let you know about a race craft clinic that we are putting on at Thunderhill Raceway in January. This is the third year that we have done this, and it's a great time for student and instructor alike. If you are planning to begin racing this year, or if you are an experienced racer that is looking for an edge to get up to the podium, this is the program for you. It's also a lot of fun.

See brief description below and visit our web site for full info:

This is a community event put on for club racers by club racers.

Also if you like our mission, please like our Facebook page, as it helps us get the word out to FB savvy racers.

Thanks, and I look forward to the possibility of seeing you in January!

The Art of Road Racing
Race Craft Clinic
Thunderhill - 30 Jan 2011

Dedicated to the Art of Road Racing, our focus is on race craft: driving in close proximity, off-line, and passing under braking. While pace is necessary, itʼs these battle skills that distinguish the successful road racer. Three run groups:

A. Introduction to race craft

B. Developing your race craft

C. Open/guided test

Perfect for the beginning racer seeking a rookie license, through the experienced racer seeking a first podium. Great preparation for the SCCA licensing school in March.

* 2+ hours on track with instructor
* Classroom lectures by Dean Thomas
* Program by Juan Pineda

Yup - I think you'll have at least 3 944Spec racers at the clinic. Once I mentioned I was trying to go my 2 closest competitors also expressed interest !

I'll be there, as an instructor. This will be my first time instructing. Looking forward to it.

Scared by a little ol Pinata? Why not just run the GT3? There won't be very much contact.

I'm fired up to hear that you and Iceman will be there.

ah... didn't juan and dean make you read the event site?
they want e30 and SM so cars are same power and so are close to each other thus you can learn how to race in close quarters

i am not TOO concerned about contact in GT3. it's a race car. but if you pass me in my GT3, i wont look too good.

Hmmm...good idea...gives me an excuse to buy an RC helicopter!!

the sunroof cover and rear roof are just thin aluminum....which is why we put the spin etching on it!

Mooty, let me know what you find out about renting a car. I just might travel out to Ca for this event. I am planning on doing a racing school back at Summot Point this March and this trip will prep me for that and also will help cure the winter blues!

If you guys want to rent Spec Miatas for this event, I can give you some names of people who do that.
