Default Leh, Tells Us How the GTR Was Please...

Apparently Leh pulled a 2:02.8 with a relatively stock GTR on all season tires at VIR. I hope he tells us some

He was in a relatively stock GT-R that only had exhaust mods and an off the shelf tune.....probably only 490whp. The fact that he ran this time on the crappy Dunlop all season tires is just amazing. If he had been on summer Dunlops he would have shaved at least 3-4 seconds off his time. Also it was sprinkling rain at the time of his run!!!!

Dude can drive!!

Here's a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGcLxUF6okk

Anyone who says the GT-R drives itself is clueless!

Car looks surprisingly twitchy and unstable. Especially on the brakes. All kinds of understeer and oversteer going on all over the place. I guess what can you expect from a 4000 lb car with that much power on street tires?

Obviously very well driven, but that goes without saying.

The reason it is so twitchy is because of the all seasons. The regular summer Dunlops that usually come on the car are much stickier.

Of course, he probably would have been a little twitchy on those tires too because he would have been going even faster.

And for a GT-R, 490whp is not that much. Things really get interesting when you have 600whp on the track.

it was..... Impressive!!!...

this was my 2nd hot lap ever in a GTR also... so i was still learning a bit.. I don't exactly get how the weight doesn't just throw the car off the track at speed... But it holds on.. and is actually a pleasure to drive.... Which was a nice surprise too..!

I think the car can make anyone go fast.. but then there is another personality of it.. a little bit extra i didn't expect... a real beast..... guess thats why they call it godzilla..

Very impressing drive, and no doubt the car is pretty amazing as well. I cannot imagine how much faster the new version will be in the right hands. How does it compare to the One Lap GT2 from an ease of drive?

GotBoost - since the GT2 is for sale, will you be entering a GTR to One Lap in 2011?

I just ran a pca instructor day so I had to bring a car with two seats. So I took my street rsa on Dunlop direzza star specs, if those are the "all seasons" on the car they stuck every bit as good as many type r rubber I've driven, amazing tire...

Oh man, AWESOME. Oversteer on braking/entry makes it look like you are kicking out the tail end of rear-brake only kart, except you are doing it with a 4000lb car!

Are you still in a Mazda this year? I'd love to see you back in a 911.

the car is pretty easy to learn right off the bat... but when you get down to it.. they are both animals at 10/10ths...

TopSpeed has been tuning and playing with GTRs for a little while now... I just got my first real experience with the car.. But i don't think its anything new for them... They have a couple of different cars in mind to replace the GT2.. So we will see...!

I was also surprised with the tires... but if you pushed it over the edge... it became pretty unhappy... and would just let go...

this is the tire.. high performance All Season runflat...

That's some mad skilz you're demonstrating there young man... And that's not the tire I was on (those are crappy all seasons!) which makes it all the more impressive...(as usual...) keep it up!
