I went throught a disaster with a Braille B2317 could barely crank the car was very weak and finally burned my alternator.
Worst part is that they didn't honor their warranty.
Caveat emptor.

I bought a Braille B14115 off Fleabay...it sat for a year but wouldn't hold a charge. Braille immediately replaced the battery with minimal questions.
It works fine in warmer weather but has a hard time cranking over my 996 in colder weather.

I have been running the larger Oddysey (PC-925?) for a couple of years. I pull the kill-switch when not in use and keep it on a battery tender. No problems. Rennline makes a cool aluminum bracket for it and the kill switch.

I've had my Odyssey 680 for a little over 5 years, and it still works like a charm. During the warmer 3 seasons, I keep it on a Battery Tender Jr. if I don't drive it for 2 weeks. In the winter, I hook it up to a tender if I don't drive the car for 1 week. I do not to run the accessories when the car is not running.
The lower cranking amps during the winter months is noticeable as my car has some difficulty cranking over. Another thing I kind of remember is that the 680 CCA is for the first 5 or so seconds...kind of like a CCA boost. After that, it gets real weak. This is a IIRC, so I apologize if that's not completely accurate.

Are the Odyssey sealed batteries? If I were to kill the battery through an emergency kill switch, would the battery die w/o being attached to a battery tender? I run my track car at most 1-2x a month.

Yes they are sealed. I kill the kill switch when I put the car away after a track event. I normally hook up the battery tender about 1 week before an event and have had no problems for 2 years.

Over 2 years and I have yet to hook up a charger or tender to the car. Sits all winter starting the motor once a month or so. I hit the kill switch between uses. Cranked and started every time.

I bought the Odyssey 680 and installed it back in January. The thing ran flawless at the club race and never needed a boost or a trickle charge. I also think the fact that I went with a lightweight high torque starter gives the battery a little break.

I called Odyssey and I'm sold. They said you could let it sit up to 2yrs without a charge as long as the voltage doesnt drop below 12.6 after you disconnect it.
I like how you can mount it on its side. Can anyone share how they have their's mounted? I plan to move it to the passenger side, up against the fuel tank, laying on its side (993).
