I'm guessing that dream got replaced by the World Series, for now anyways.
I know that Mercer/Lizards and World Speed are both preparing 2010 Porsche Cup cars for the 25 (seat avail in WS car - $30K), and I heard a rumor that someone's bringing a prototype that they predict will do 170mph on the front straight. That'll be fun as it constantly passes packs of cars going half as fast.

This on top of my sprint race annual budget is about all I can justify on a pretty decent job and a side business. Kudos to those who can pay for the high end seats. Gives me something to aspire to...
Too bad I gave up pitching in high school!

I love it. Our budget is about $1250 each for 5 drivers including hotel, 2 sets of tires, and gas. We run Thursday practice too That has to be about as cheap as you can run this event if you are from out of town.

No we'll be racing in the E30 325e I posted on the first page. 944 could be close to that on cost I think but that is my sprint racing car. The E30 is configured for this purpose and uses less fuel and has more power, just at a cost of a bit of handling. The Boxster is one of our street cars... just couldn't resist tracking it a couple times as you see in the avatar.
We ran the 12 hours of the Cascades in Portland a couple weeks back and since we all live local and used old tires, we ran the whole race for $1200, before we got a small stipend back for winning the class. I think it cost each driver about $225 after we split the winnings. That is the cheapest you can possibly play in the enduro game, and we can still be competitive for the Limited class victory.

Rich said he, Johannes and Tommy Sadler were definite and the plan was for another pro to join them. They bought the 2010 cup after the last Patron race (where Rich finished 3rd) and it was at the Lizards for prep work for the 25 hr race.

mikel miller formerly of bgb porsche and lots of formula car stuff (and current skippy instructor at laguna) will be running for one of the cup car teams.
formula D homeboy Tyler Mcquarrie is driving again for AMG in the MX5 cup (current jim russell instructor at infineon)
both of these guys have instructed me so it will be fun to race against them again this year

Possibly. Depends on if someone wants to rent out the garage. Given we've got co-tenants now (some lowly 928 guy, with an automatic no less............) there may be a veto.

The current can and driver entry list has been posted. Certainly is not complete as lots of driver forms must be outstanding... half my team is not listed yet.

the 25 is getting more and more pro's involved.
