They didn't make 15's running low profile hoosiers a prepared change or outlaw it altogether. It results in a significant gearing change. It's basically a legal ring and pinion change. Everyone else is running stock rolling diameter. Rationale was pretty flawed. They think it's about allowing guys with stock wheels from the factory (some of which are 15's) to keep running those wheels. That's not what it's about though because guys are buying special made 15's x 8 and 9 not the factory wheels. So you get the best of both worlds, wider tire and gearing change.

Hi Sean,

I'm looking to put 15" wheels on my 74 Carerra as well. My car is setup for E class (has an 82 SC conversion). Where are you looking to get your 15" wheels from? Sorry for the thread jack! GL with your sale.

I have no experience with these wheels, but some guys are running these:

There are also vintage bbs wheels that would work

i agree Dan - 15's looks like @ss, but it's hard to ignore the performance gain - seconds, not tenths

I love the way the 18's look

Has something to do with having a 5 spd to work with vs. our current 4 spd..
