Different. The 300C appears to be well prepared and driven.

WoW! That looks pretty darn fun. The Mercs and the C300 sound positively evil.
Wonder what the specs are of these cars. Is it power to weight governed? Sound like there is something else out there apart from V8s. Supercharger whine?
What are the cars at the 5.20 mark? Look like Holdens.

Now if we could bring those down here to race at Bathurst against the locals...that would be something.

Sounds like the transmission to me, not SC. You can hear it throughout the video.

No gear whine ..

Bathurst is the dangles , watched that race for many years when Brock was King, if you could get this kind of mix at Bathurst it would be EPIC ...

In the 300 you don't have to ask for the Grey Poupon.

As far as an interesting mix of cars and some excellent driving, check out FIA GT3.

The Grey Poupon is in the differential ..

The FIA GT3 is a different deal , it's not an all V8 4 door tin top series.....

Straight cuts sound a bit different to me but I'm sure you're right. Certainly some different sounding motors. I assume they're not all the same capacity so there would be weight differences between the cars to balance.

Great video! In one of the camera angles, did I briefly see a Quattroporte?
