GTGP oct 22-24 Laguna Seca to Air on Mobil 1 The Grid Pre F1 race...!!!
Gents
GTGP has just signed Mobil 1 as the presenting sponsor for the 2010 Global Tuner Grand Prix Oct 22-24, 2010.
The GTGP will be televised world wide on "The Grid" on there 30 minute show on Speed and other international networks before the start of the first F1 race in 2011.
The Grid is coming out from the UK to the film the entire weekend and produce an amazing show.
There is still room to register for the 2010 Global Tuner Grand Prix
please visit www.globaltunergp.com for more information or email
info@globaltunergp.com
What would be really cool for 2011 is to get all the Porsche racers and Porsche Tuners out to the event next year where they can battle it out in front of international press..
This year event was locked in late in the season so many were not able to attend but next years event gives everyone plenty of time to plan and bring out there best..
No more excuses........ Well see who shows up..

This was a great event, with a lot of "everything" going on from the start of the weekend to the finish.
rain, crashes, dry, fast laps, hot cars, pro drivers, great battles, even time attack cars, spectators, great support races (Historic Nascar, and even the Pirelli cup had 30 cars! ) etc etc. It was run like a mini-ALMS weekend. I thought it was a great event.
Here is my report. Video coming. we had a rain race on saturday, that ended up in a downpour, and we had a dry race that started out with a very wet track 30mins after the rain stopped.
I have to say, what scared me the most about racing in the rain, was driving the car on the hyway in the pouring rain on the way home from our "dry" race on slicks!

mark, congrats
i was there on friday. wet wet wet.
looks like lots of carnage.
i saw mark andersen's cup and 928, but couldn't find the legend himself to say hi. i guess he only raced the 928?

yeah, there was quite a few spins and crashes. I got a lot of them on video, but missed a few too, due to my silly budget cameras.
I got a 5th overall finish on Saturday's race. (racing on 305 slicks is fun in the rain. )
On Sunday, I got up to 8th overall, mostly attrition
