Well, the GT3 SLS just won the last race of the VLN (nurburgring endurance series). Awesome!! great achievement in such a short period and it will certainly push Porsche to make their 911 Cups be even faster.

Yes, I also know that the SLS was originally designed as the replacement/update for the Viper prior to the split. The Viper got updated in 2008 and was for sale in 2009, then Chrysler said they would just keep making the same car, then they discontinued it. Now it's back on.
The car has underwent a lot of changes. 3-5 year development cycle means the SLS/Viper would have come out about now too. It's no secret.

While lots of MB technology 'flowed downstream' to Chrysler products, the opposite was never true during the merger years.
