Default Proposed 2011 rule changes to 944 Super Cup

Doing some retooling of the Super Cup class for 2011 to simplfy the rules. Proposed rule changes inlcude:

• Remove the 924S, 944, and all 928 from the list of eligible models.
• Replace various Prep Charts for PCA and SCCA – Combined Vehicle and Driver Minimum Weights, with one chart for all models.
• All allowed modifcations to factory parts and specs apply to all models.
• Require OEM DME chips for all models
• Shocks, springs, bushing materials, sway bars, all brakes components, transmission gearing, wheel spacers.
• Wheel and tires are free but must not extend beyond the fenders.
• Front fenders, doors, engine hood, headlamp covers can be replaced with identical parts in size and shape made of non-stock materials.

Anyone planning to race in the class next year and having an interest in commenting on the 2011 rules, you can email me at cup944@aol.com.

Default Fire Hawk 968's

Will the new rules allow the 968 Fire Hawks to run at the same weight as they do with F stock in PCA? I believe the Super Cup rules required 968 Fire Hawks to run 100lbs more than PCA.

For all models there will be only classification, no longer distinguishing between the different prep levels or versions of the model. Here are the proposed weights:

Model Yr Min. Weight (Lbs)

944S All 2550
944S2 All 2800
951 All 2900
951S All 3080
968 All 2900

Gary welcome to GTS me and Stephan have also moved over to GTS 3 . Just trying to figure out what the most reliable way for me to add the extra hp. I don't want to do anything to take the reliability away from my car.

Thanks Steve . I'm really happy to see you and Stephan are also going to be racing in GTS3. There's a lot of 944's in the series, as well as having a large class turn out at events. I'm really looking forward to next season.

I'm going to use a Tial GT3071R .82 A/R and Tial 38mm wastegate. The old turbo was shot anyway so this was the best route for me to take

GTS3 is a great class and we need a few more Porsche's to beat up the M3's stealing the show.
On the East Coast GTS1 & GTS2 are filled with 944 NA's, S2's and 968's. There are a couple of 951's floating around in GTS3 already but we need a few more.
With the Nasa National Championships coming back to Mid Ohio this September it's a great time to join in.

I haven't driven Mid Ohio yet, it looks like a great track.
I will have to do the Chin event there next May

I believe NNJR does a nice 3 day event at Mid-Ohio every year. I have missed it everytime but will again try to make the next one.

I have moved my car up from GTS2 to GTS3. Come out to help us kick some M3 butt. Nationals should be much better attended @ Mid Ohio too. Check out the video of the last GTS nationals held at Mid O.

I think it's going to be great next year. The proposed rule changes look good, and with the Turbos in GTS, we can have a level field for us NA's in 944SC. And, we'll still be on track together so we'll just as well be racing each other!

I heard that the SuperCup races were all going to be with PCA next season.

NASA NE is also considering keeping a 944SC class alive, maybe under a modified name and format

3 day events are nice, maybe I will plan for that one, especially when I think the Chin event is around the time of my wedding aniversary
