Is there two options on the data storage the first link looks like you plug a fire wire into it. don't they make them with a data card too?

The only storage is a data card, up to 32GB.

You can pull the SD card out or hook up the USB cable to transfer files to PC.

I have the older / original go pro hero with wide angle lense. I paid 150 for it three years ago when they came out. I hear you can get them now for $99 bucks at costco and other places. It's not hd but it's pretty darn good for utube and such.

you could buy two of the standard ones for the price of a HD one.

Does the camera have a LANC input. Do you have to manually turn it on?

My HD GoPro needs to be turned on manually.

Is the standard lens wide enough, or do you need an additional wide-angle attachment?

You don't need an additional wide angle lens for the goproHD. I have mine mounted on a roll bar mount and you can easily see out the window as well as all of my hand movements. The angle of view is much better than the Aiptek HD with a wide angle lens stuck on it.

How is the audio on the GoPro HD camera? I have an Aiptek HD unit, and besides the crummy angle of the lense relative to the camera body, the audio just plan sucks.

The GoPro picture is excellent. It's wide angle and captures video perfectly when mounted either in front of behind the driver. I like the behind driver view because I can look at my hands and not sacrifice the view. I use the I-Port mount that I used for an older video camera.

Check out GoPro's website for footage.
