Guys
I have 6 or 7 Hoosier 245/45/17 Koni (not DOT), slightly used slicks. These are take-offs from a Koni Challenge Porsche, from the 08 season. These have been in my garage in Florida. No sunlight, no freezing. These are free for anyone who wants to pick them up. I will not ship, too much hassle. Lots of rubber, but can not tell if they have deteriorated, hence the price.....FREE. (Gary R, too bad you live so far away!) I have run these (fronts) on my car and they have great grip when fairly fresh (1.4 to 1.5 G grip, 2:09 at Watkins Glen).

Interesting. . .
I am up in St Pete. I usually run R6's - fronts are 245's, but run 275 rears.
So, anybody have experience running these slicks front with R6 rears?
Too different? Odd temp cycles? Bad balance - too much oversteer?
Price is hard to resist. . .

I worked in the Grand Am series and know the Hoosier boss pretty well. He said that the rubber on these is the same as R6. If you do DE or track days, you should try them. If you race, the non-DOT tires may not be legal in your class. I have some 275's but they are newer (2009) and I was keeping them for my car. I might sell one set of those (depending on how many I have) for $100 a set, if you want to try the tires all around. The 944 uses more front tire than rear, opposite of my 911.

Yep, spoke to Hoosier, no problems . . . Same compound as the R6, just "different internal construction" They said maybe 1 sec slower on the Koni Challenge cars, but I should not notice any balance problems.
email me at:

and we can chat about pickup. I can probably swing by early next week - at Sebring this weekend.
Hope to speak soon . . .

I'd be interested in a set, but I'd need the 275s for the rear as well. I have some burned up R6s now and would like to try them.
I'll be in Tampa next week (if the parts arrive at my client) and could come down. I also need to pick some stuff up from Suncoast so maybe we could meet there?

I only have 2 spare sets of 275 so I'm planning on keeping them. Not working the Koni/Continental series this year so no resource for used tires. Guess I'll need to buy tires next year UGH!
