Default 2011 F1 Calender with dates (20 races!!!)

20-race F1 calendar confirmed for 2011
8 September 2010

Brazil’s Interlagos circuit will host the F1 season finale next year instead of Abu Dhabi, the World Motor Sport Council has confirmed today after publishing the calendar for the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship, which includes one extra grand prix, taking the total to 20 - the biggest ever.

As already announced in September last year, India will join the fold next season, and it will take place between the events in Korea and Abu Dhabi, on October 30 - subject to the homologation of the circuit.

The only other change in relation to this year’s calendar and next, concerns Turkey, which now moves to the start of May and before Spain and Monaco, whereas this year it took place after those events on May 30.

There will be four back-to-back events, one more than in 2010, namely Malaysia-China, Spain-Monaco, Germany-Hungary and Japan-Korea.

The complete schedule is as follows:

2011 FIA Formula One World Championship Calendar

13 March Bahrain
27 March Australia
10 April Malaysia
17 April China
08 May Turkey
22 May Spain
29 May Monaco
12 June Canada
26 June Europe
10 July Great Britain
24 July Germany
31 July Hungary
28 August Belgium
11 September Italy
25 September Singapore
09 October Japan
16 October Korea
30 October India*
13 November Abu Dhabi
27 November Brazil

* subject to the homologation of the circuit

So assuming that the Austin track is built and homologated, which of these tracks will lose a date ?

The calender would have to be moved around a bit. Before the Belgium GP, there were rumors yet again that Spa might be dropped in the future. Not because of Austin, but because of all the politics that goes around that area and Bernie/F1.

I'd hate to lose Spa again as it's by far, IMHO the best track on the calender.

I'd heard that Spa has been losing money hosting recent GP's. They'd like to go every other year to defray the costs and use the Nurgurbring the other years.

Memo to Bernie:

Pry open your wallet and pay Spa to keep it hosting a race every year....and put Flavio and Eddie Jordan in charge of hospitality.

Spa is a great circuit, although according to reports has had a tough time making money. I would really be a tragedy to see Spa off the calender.

Spa is my favorite circuit on the calendar. Probably because it is not a Tilka design.

I will be totally disappointed if it gets dropped.

Texas circuit will likely be a sh*thole as well. Parade laps anyone?
