Petit Le Mans tickets: Any deals?
I'm about to purchase a couple of 4-day tickets and wondered if anyone had found any deals? Last year, I bought tickets from the 944 Cup guys I think, and had a pass into the hot pits (AWESOME) for the weekend except during the race--unless you had on a fire suit. Are there any deals out there with extras? I'm fine with the standard price, but didn't know if there is a more feature-packed ticket for a similar price. TIA

Call RA and get the Porsche Platz tickets. It saves you some scratch on the infield parking and assuming you are bringing your P-Car you can park in the designated P-Car area which is a good vantage point on the track..
Unfortunately I don't know of any "Hot Pit" tickets, but I too would be interested..

Thanks for the advice, Dave. Looks like that will be the way to go.
I say "hot pit" (that sounds kind of strange if taken out of context); I assume that is what they consider the other side of the fence beyond what is deemed cold pits. Firesuits were required on Saturday (so we did not go in), but on the other days they allowed us in--regardless of series running.

ONE PIT, TWO PIT, THREE PIT, HOT PIT!

There is no fuel in the pits on practice days, hence no protection deemed required.
Yes, it is the 'other side of the fence' I am referring to...

All I see right now:
Car Corral Ticket Information and Ordering - Call 800-849-7223 or 770-967-6143
I am going to call Hennessy Porsche that services my car and see if they have any. Maybe PCA discount?

Thanks for the clarification, Kim--I was curious of the reasoning behind this. I bet you are looking forward to the race weekend!

what's interesting about the fire suit thing in ALMS is that in Grand Am, you can be in the pits in a short sleeve shirt, during the race! I worked in the TRG pits for Daytona 24 and had jeans and a t-shirt. I worked the deadman lever for the fuel. The only people that needed fire suits were the crew over the wall, and that was only if they were fueling.
Was funny, they move fueling rigs all over the pit area - ladies standing around in nice clothes, guys/gals in t-shirts. no big deal...
to ge the Porscheplatz parking pass, you have to call the track. Save's $15 off the infield parking. Not much, but worth a few beers.

Mark- There are plenty of people in the parking lot selling passes cheap. I have bought from them the last few years. Check online to see what passes cost retail so you can bargain for a good deal.
Lets hope the weather is better this year than last.

[Corrected] Bob Saville, listed on the PCA website, said call the number on the website (posted above). $25 to park in the platz instead of the normal $40 for infield parking.

Yeah, well, then you wouldn't have that human interaction now would you?
Basically, it takes some doing to coordinate the track, IMSA, Porsche AG, PCNA and PCA. We have to get stuff into Pano andother publications long in advance, and the players are not always ready with the details yet. So...they just forward you to your friendly neighborhood PCA Zone 3 Rep....that would be me.
I will hopefully have details of some sort of Porscheplatz schedule soon.
