If the tires have around 4-5/32 tread i have no problem with rain. My RA1's were shaved to 5/32 so now the rears are down to 2 lines so they are tough in heavy Florida rain. Last DE it rained lightly and I was fine on a 2 lane road going across Florida at 40ish mph.

R888s are perfect to drive to the track. I use them, and most tracks are a good two hours away.

I run 335/30/18 R888's on the street and have no issues other than the tractor trailer type noise they emit at speed.not so good in the rain though!

Can't tell you how many times I drove home from Summit Point and Watkins Glen on a sunday night in the rain with bald track tires and backing plates (sans pad material) tinkling off of the rotors. It's what you do till you get a trailer.

I also drive to and from events on R888s, but I really like the Michelin Cups better for the drive to and from, as well as the way they feel on track. I actually got the R888s because they get sticky quicker at autocross, but still like the Cups better for track; and they're quiet.

This past weekend I did a little over 1000 miles on my R888's including about 120 miles of track time at Miller Motorsports Park.
The tires held up great, I even think they are a little quieter after running them hard on the track, they are pretty dang loud though.

Yes, A032R Yoks are TERRIBLE street tires.

The Toyos, however are excellent, at least the RA01 which is pretty similar to the new ones I think. That's all I use on my street Viper and they are more comfortable than the stock Michelins and allow me to use the power without spinning my wheels.

I still get caught time to time in the rain at or going to and from the races. funny how I feel safer going 100mph down the main straight at laguna vs drving home at 50mph on hyway 17.
on shaved toyos RA1s that is.
