Winning Friday open practice is the same as winning a DE ...
Fact:

Tomorrow's line up is

1) Sebastian Vettel
2) Fernando Alonso
3) Felipe Massa

Hamilton wasn't much better than in the rain. He'll start 6th.

Now what were you saying about a DE?

Great qualifying session today. Nice to see the ferraris show up. It will be interesting to see how the super soft tires hold up with all that fuel at the start of the race and there is no rain

One thing this season has taught me and that is to stop thinking I can make a pre-race prediction and have the result come out as anything other than pure luck. Good luck to all the drivers tomorrow and let's hope they all race hard, but race smart.

Now what were you saying about a DE?
So the driver who won the Friday practice is starting 2nd...not 1st?
Wait, I thought if you won Friday, you got to start 1st on Saturday?
Did the FIA change the rules yet again?

Clearly the Ferrari has made a major improvement, given Massa's performance as the indicator. From the cheap seats, I thought the Ferrari sounded markedly different this race compared to previous races...

Should be a good race tomorrow, the start will be key, followed by pit strategy on how quickly to ditch the super softs.
Throw rain into the mix and everything is out the window.

And in the related news, those same drivers did not think Alonso would be WDC, that would be either of the RBR or McLaren drivers.
So the best driver in the sport, driving for the best/most famous team (some would even say favored by the FIA and/or FOM) is NOT expected to win the WDC...
So, why exactly did Alonso go to Ferrari rather than McLaren (oh never mind..been there, done that) or RBR ?

FWIW Rosbeg out qualified his team mate by 8/000's of a second. Hardly a large margin. Nice to see Ferrari with some pace again. Sorry that Sato did not qualify.

+1 on all accounts!!

Qualifying was pretty exciting especially with the F-cars in the mix.
