Yeah, it was funny because that was the first thing that came to my mind was the blowout at CMP. Your quick diagnosis then helped me recognize it quickly this time.

We have an unsolved mistery with Turbos and left rear wheels (always slicks) blowing. Between Al Norton, Tom Kerr and Myself there are probably 12-15 blown tires (on the same corner) in the last couple of years. The only common denominator is a Getty Rear Wing (well and stiff spring rates) and almost ANY type of slick (Michelin, Yoko, Hoosier). Oddly enough, R6's don't seem to have the problems.

I have driven Yokos on my car for several weekends prior to getting that wing and never had one problem, but now I've had two blowouts in about 4-5 sessions. It's aggravating (and costly).

What a fantastic track. All I can say is that video does the track no justice. And I thought it was hot in FL. I will be back with a bigger set of ***** one day. Nice to meet all the rennlisters during the HOT, HOT, HOT weekend. Wish I would've met most on Saturday, we could've had a few beers.

A great HOT weekend. Although I didn't neccesarily know who the RL'ers were, I was one of the Chin chiefs at the event and I probably talked to you when you got your car tech'ed. I agree with TRAKCAR that there were lots of good drivers and lots of fast cars. My 964 on street tires was no match for the hordes of GT3s and Z06s. I felt like I brought my knife to a gunfight. I was hoping to see my car getting passed in TRAKCAR's video since I was out from just after 5PM till the checkers in the last session on Sunday.

I also agree with andrewdr that Henry from Colourtech does some great work. Here are a few samples.

+ 1 on the quality of the drivers and the discipline. Traffic was heavy but completely fluid. My 996 GT3 felt almost inadequate, or was it the driver?! I look forward to next year's event. Here are 4 laps:

Armando, great driving.
That Red M3 was very fast! The driver is fine, maybe it is time to break out the RS ;-)
Thanks for the cookies and see you at the track soon!

Nice driving! I see a few cars there that I recognize. I also see no one is using the double super-secret line down the esses...

Thanks for the comment! Last time I tried to use the double super-secret line in the esses, 3 years ago, I ended up in the wall. Best left to super-secret agents!

It doesn't look hot. But it surely was.

Here's a local secret to beat the heat; air the bottom of yer car and right side tires at least twice a lap (T3, T7). T1 is optional.
And if your really trying, left AND right wheels under the bridge.
Not recommended for T12

I should not have been so hot given how much air you quickly left between your car and my car each time you passed me!

Its a stock 996 3.4 motor/trans and I've been running the **** out of it but it hasn't protested (touching wood) until I overheated the trans on the w/e (fluid came out the overflow). So trans cooler (and LSD) are imminent.

We only just installed the third H20 rad before this event- it lowered temps 30F but still max'd out at 221F. Good thing. Muy, muy caliente.

Peter,
Maybe it's the combination of the cookies and the driver! It was good seeing you and Erik. Hopefully soon again, definitely for the 48 hours (it's only 6 months from now!).
