Default Finally drove on NJMP Lightning track. It is a great track.

I was with PCA Schattenbaum at their HPDE New Jersey Motorsports Park. One day was at the "main" track "Thunderbolt" and one was at "Lightning." I had been to T-bolt before, but not Lightning. T-bolt is the more "professional" course, hosting Grand-Am and other races, and Lightning is more of a recreational track (the "Par 9" course).

My expectations were fairly low (re Lightning), but I came away enjoying Lightning better than T-bolt. It's shorter but still very challenging, and there are far more "connected" turns than at T-bolt. (Racing is probably better on T-bolt because the track is wider and there are more passing zones.)

I highly recommend Lightning if anyone is looking for a fresh experience in the Northeast.

Greg: I think I know your car! Were you running yellow #s? If so, we had a good time didn't we ...

Should I post the T'bolt vid ???

Saw your post on Vimeo but have not got back there again today .. The shame of it is my vid mem card crapped out on me for Lightning. We had a good fast group there. Lots of fun and great weather.

That was my first event in the new car - less than 1K, the correct way to break her in. Learnin her..

I think, IIRC, you and I spoke when you came over to find the driver of the red Cayman S ..

Hey! Yes, yellow #s. Sorry to hear about the Lightning vid. I actually enjoyed that track more than T-bolt. For my car (low-hp, high-grip) Lightning was like a roller coaster. Your mate in the Cayman S had the best view of my more dramatic OTE.

And kudos for using your C2S the way God intended!

Cool!

I too prefer Lightning. Its faster, more rhythmic, more fun, and T1 has 'bite'.

T'Bolt is the B-film starlet; Lightning is the Brazilian stripper...

I drove Thunderbolt but got rained out for Lightning at last year's event. I didn't think much of T. and was looking forward to Lightning. Oh well, next time.

I was there too! I stopped by on Friday afternoon to coach Bobby Chopra for a few sessions at Lightning. Fun little track; turn 5 is the bomb!

Loved T5. I got faster and faster over the day, and had as much fun when I missed the apex as when I found it! It's nice to have these tracks nearby (3 hour drive).
