Jim - Sorry to see those pictures, but glad that you're OK... I'll start looking for a replacement engine! If anyone knows how to deal with the aftermath of a fire, it's you!

Oh, you must have been wearing your 3" heels when you got measured

+1 ... sometimes you need a real world account to make people think of the little things that get forgotton or don't become second nature.

Actually, the main reason for the spare/wrecked 951 was the spare motor, it runs, has good compression and about 84k miles, we will take it apart and freshen it completely while upgrading the cam and having the head reconditioned and improved. At the same time, I will dry ice blast the bottom of the car, remove the balance of the sound deadening that has not burned off, install my new hardened S2 ring and pinion plus some other select bits (sako can, 3 piece cross member, manual rack) and it will be off to the races with a new and improved race car. I may have to get a spec Miata to shake off the racing jones though.

Doc - My next move is to use surgical tubing to secure the harness out of the way like an endurance car.

Thanks for sharing and glad you are ok! Consider changing you user name. Blessed-man or safe-man or lucky-man. A fire is a racers worst nightmare.

Thanks but "disasterman" is my moniker because my business is Disaster Restoration in the states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Florida and wherever there is a hurricane.

Living up to your name sake. Glad you are OK. Very good job on the escape.

Good luck with the rebuild.

Heresy, man - rent a 944 Spec car & come race with us for a weekend, besides we (actually Nick of Bennington Motorsports) are cheaper!

The surgical tubing is a very good idea.

It will be interesting to see Roy's video from right behind you!
