Last November we got our son a battery powered John Deer Gator for his 2nd birthday. Didn't expect much since they rate the toy between 3-4 to 8 years old, I just couldn't resist buying it. Now this late spring (2 1/2 years old), Noah fractured his foot and was in a cast for 5 weeks. Poor kid couldn't walk so one day he decided to hop on it and got everything going. Now a couple weeks later, Noah knows how to run it in both gears (yes he shifts) on the sidewalk, knows how to put it in reverse and loves to burn plastic (no rubber wheels). Cast got taken off last week but we still do our daily after dinner tour around the block.

Unbelievable how kids pick it up so quickly. I'm already starting to think of a little kart.
