Joe is correct. When we were at HANS for our first dealer training, I asked Bob Hubbard if they recommended the 2" shoulder belts. At that time, he said that Schroth never consulted them about the development of the 2" belts and that all their testing was done with 3" belts. I think they have "warmed" up to the 2" belts since that time but you can use either a 2" or 3" shoulder harness with a HANS. If installed correctly, the 3" shoulder belts curl up on the neck portion of the HANS yolks. when considering belt mounting and rounting, Schroth recommends the belts be as straight as possible. I have had customers comment that they like the 2" shoulders better with a HANS but it all boils down to mounting.

On another note, we installed a Gforce on the passenger side and a Schroth on the driver (since we sell both). Clark commented on how much nicer the Schroth belt is, the webbing is softer, the hardware lighter and you have a bunch of various configuration choices with Schroth. However, Gforce is the biggest bang for the buck if you are on a budget if you choose their pull down camlock FIA belts. The pull down version is SFI and FIA approved - FIA is valid for 5 years.

GForce may be SFI and FIA certified but IMO Schroth is much better quality. GForce hardware is heavy and clunky.

Go with the Scroth if you can afford it.

+1 on the schroth 6 points, I prefer pull up on the laps, expecially with a tight racing bucket and pull downs on the shoulders.

Good for over twice the SFI load. This is our preferred harness for testing.

Schroth or Sabelt. No question about it.

The Schroth hardware is better, buckles and adjustments smoother and easier. The 2" just integrates nicer with the Hans. I much prefer pull up, seat bolsters and physique effect how significant that is

Thanks for all the responses. There is defenitely some good information here that hopefully can be helpful to others.

I did end up going with the g-force belts based on budget. Everything has added up pretty quick between seats, roll bar, and harnesses. Hopefully I will be able to upgrade to a Schroth or something similar once these expire. At that point I hope I won't be spending so much at one time!
