At the Petit LeMans (yea, I got to Georgia, not France) a couple years ago, I was hoping something, anything, could challenge the all-powerful Audi TDI diesels. After all, they had won for something like the last 8 years straight. The closed cockpit Peugeot diesels appeared, and they were faster than the Audis, but their pit crews and maybe their tacticians were not as good as Audi's. The Audis won. But, the Peugeots were GORGEOUS. It's wasn't really a fair fight between the gassers and the diesels--the diesels tremendously out-torqued the gas cars, pulling away from them going uphill like the gas cars were stuck in mud. They were faster, and got better fuel mileage to boot. And eerily quiet. You could hear their sticky tires peel off the rumble strips as they went by. I think the new diesel technology is alien tech, area 51 stuff. Cars from Mars.

Do they get confused why a race doesn't consist of 4 gradual left turns?

They'll show just the left turns. Unfortunately, the race is run clockwise, so there are more right handers than left handers. On the other hand, there are about 6 left handers on the circuit, so it'll seem like 1.5 races to the producers (which means they'll put in more commercials).

Why is it they focus 90% of the coverage on the P1-P2 cars and give very little attention to the GT cars? I don't give a rats *** about the P1-P2 Not a lot of competition in those classes. And I'm sure if they want to attract new race fans, those folks aren't attracted to cars they've never heard of or can't buy.

These guys need a better marketing plan. I want to watch the Porsche GT3RSR VS the M3GTS VS THE Ferrari vs the Lambo vs the Aston vs the cough err Vette .. etc....thats racing.

In regards to Speed covering who knows. The cameras are shared by all the networks and being French operated the following has always been in the prototype class it's what makes Le Mans historically.

The thinking is far different in Europe than it is here in the US as far as fan following of the proto's especially with Peugeot and Audi at the top.
