Andy, I think you should short-shift to 5th to conserve fuel.

We figure about 5.5 gal/min. It would be close with the smaller tank and 85 min. of racing. I know some SPBs ran the 90 min. enduro at RA in 2008 and at least one did so without refueling. Not sure, but I think there were some yellow-flag laps. If you have some pit stop help I'd refuel just to be safe. It would suck to run out of fuel half way through the last lap...ask me how I know!

Maybe I'll do that so you can keep up.

Could you narrow it down a bit, please? From which New England state?

Do some research, find out who spun at Limerock in a Spec Boxster... narrow enough?

Andy, I did the Sebring Enduro without adding fuel, light was on for three laps and I estimate remaining fuel at 1.5 gallons. We (all the Texas cars) averaged 8 mpg according to the PIWIS, I don't recall the number of yellow laps.

No elevation change at Sebring, though, unless you use the curbs. Glen MPG will be lower IMO.

I can personally attest to a substantial elevation change going over the curb at turn 2 at Sebring. Brakes got soft there so elected to drive straight over that curb. I felt like a Rally driver for a second.

Having a GT3 master cylinder and ss brake lines installed this weekend. Hopefully that will put this brake issue to bed once and for all.

Thanks Steve, that's good info. We'll see how the weekend is going. Maybe I'll give it a try. If I do, I will let you know how it turned out.

Where you have up-hills, you also have down hills. Except when I was a kid. We had tracks that were up-hill all the way around.

Yep, I ran the enduro at RA without refueling on the smaller gas tank. We did have a double yellow for a handful of laps and my light was on for a while, but I was on a fresh engine (broken in that weekend) so I would not have been getting the best fuel mileage. I think the other guys also ran without refueling and did so very comfortably.

The only way it should finish without fuel is with yellows. if there is not long yellows I doubt it will make it.

Well... I did the 90 min Enduro without taking fuel and made it with no problem. We had a 2 or 3 lap caution at the end, but my fuel light wasn't even on at the end. What is interesting is Tim also did not take fuel and made it, but he said he was almost out.

Tim, what year is your car? Maybe that is the difference.

Great weekend of Spec Boxster racing!

-Andy
