Default Spec Boxster Fuel Economy

Hey Fellow Spec Boxster drivers.

Anyone know if the Spec Boxster can make a 90 min enduro without taking fuel? I may not have a crew at the Glen and want to know my options.

What year car are you driving Andy? I understand that the mid 98's and 99's have a larger fuel tank (15.3 vs 17 gallons).

Mine is a '98. I didn't know there were different fuel tanks.

I think it would be close I have a non-spec 02-s and took a splash to finish a 90-minute

Hi Andy,

If you do need to refill we may be able to help you out, especially if you are in the same run group as D or E and don't mind working with the logistics of a few cars serviced by one crew (ie staggard pit stops).

Thanks Mark. We'll talk at the track. I also like to just take my 5 min stop and stay in the car. That way I can always have a perfect stop without any surprises.

Don't worry Andy, we built that car with a bigger gas tank to accommodate the 3.2 Boxster S engine that is in it. Didn't I show you the secret button under the dash?

At a track like the Glen, with those elevation changes, IMO no. 90 minutes at say 2:10 a lap is what? 42 laps? At 3.4 miles per lap? 142 miles? I assure you, you ain't getting 10 MPG in race conditions.

To finish the glen race, you will run 85 minutes with a 2:15 lap time. I'd figure you'll need to do around 7.5 MPG
