Help- tires creeping around the rims
Had my 888's flipped and rebalanced and had them use Aquanet hairspray on the rims. Did 2 track days and all the tires had moved 6 inches. I hate that feeling from unbalanced tires.
Has anyone tried spray contact adhesive to solve this problem?

Hmm, that sounds reasonable and at least would minimize the vibrations from the tire.
I'm surprised people would use something weak like hairspray but have never tried contact cement. It has a much stronger bond.

Hairspray works very well if you clean off all the crude on the rims bead surface before you mount the tire. It also doesn't hurt to wipe off any residue on the bead of the tire since it sounds like it was mounted with soap in the past.

2. Mount tires
3. Balance rims again, with a 2nd set of weights
4. Use paint to index tire to 2nd set of weights.
5. As tire shifts, adjust 2nd set of weights to compensate.
Kind of labor intensive, but if you ordinarily have to rebalance a set of tires it pays for itself.

I use hair spray 99% of the time. When I get a difficult one or one that looses air from rubber flash on the tire I use bead sealer which is like contact cement specifically for tires. Hope that helps. Any tire store has this like myers or meyers tire on the web

did you measure the movement or shift of the tire, by each session? I found that the tires I have that have been mounted after a few weeks, dont move. also, I found that they move less after a couple of heat cycles.
for tires mounted at the track, I guess you just have to deal with it or use the creative technique of balancing the rims and then tires separately.
I found that the hoosiers moved more than the toyos, so it could be the tire differences at the contact area.

This looks like it might work. I think I'll have the rims balanced without the tires, then put the tires on with the bead sealer and see if that works. Thanks.

No one suggested using less brakes? Or mounting the wheels on the opposite sides of the car to move the tires back?
Is there any down side to using bead sealer? Like it needs to be cleaned off the next time you mount tires?

With the Toyo 888's I do swap the wheels from side to side because they don't care which direction they are driven, except in the rain, but that doesn't solve the vibration problem from the out of balance situation.

Tried the bead sealer ect...stuff drag racers use and my R888 spun on my CCW. Had the bead blasted and mounted dry and that solved the problem. I might get 1/4" of slip right after tiers are mounted but that is it. I mark the tires at the valve stem to keep an eye on them.
