What's the trick to opening an open Trailex light box to get at the bulbs??

I've looked and looked and don't see anything obvious

don't the lenses just pop off?

BTW, every time that I have had a light go out on my trailer it has been because of bad wiring not blown bulbs. The wiring on Trailex trailers SUCKS.

Yes, I finally got it. There's a black tab at the bottom that is pulled to pop it off. Putting a VOM on it everything checks, put a bulb in and the stop/turn filiment doesn't get juice even though the nub inside the socket does. For some reason the stop/turn node isn't making contact inside the socket.

I wonder if sockets are available, anyone know?

You can buy a replacement for the entire unit but not sure just the sockets are available. I picked up a couple of units that were direct matches to the trailex unit at my local auto parts store.

I'll check NAPA tomorrow. I found some led replacements that look interesting too, wonder how that would work, the truck already has led tail lights.

Bill,
If the bottom contact is just a bent spring tab, you can usually just get a small right angle dental pick (or equivalent) and just bend it back up.
Re-install the bulb and it will force the contact back down under spring pressure and you're good to go.
Happens quite often.

Depends on whether or not VR & Kibort are around to comment on it.
