Default PBOC Rocks!

Spent the weekend with PBOC at Barber and just wanted to thank the guys (and gals) responsible for putting the event together. I was in their Super Solo (DE) Class which allows passing anywhere on the track without a point-by. I was cautiously optimistic at first, but in the end it all worked beautifully and am now a believer. Everyone on the track did exactly what they were suppose to do and more. We had everything from Vipers to older BMWs on the track at one time and do not believe there where any issues relating to format. I wish more groups would adopt this class into their events.

The only thing that put a "damper" on the event was Sunday's morning rain.

Thanks again to the PBOC for a great experience,

Alex

PS: The racing was great too!

I was there...it was fun. Barber is (for me) a very magical track. The 80% solution is relatively simple, but the 98% solution really makes it a driver's track IMO.

Not to mention the freaky sculpture of the drowning guy....

Sounds a lot like Limerock, most likely why Dan J. speaks so highly of it..

Except it's longer than a mile. And has giant insect sculptures. And blind corners where high entry speed is critical to lap times.

Good weekend, great group of guys, and fun to be at the track after a little while. Zmann, I'm truly sorry you are having fits with the car.

Barber is my favorite track so far out of Sebring, Daytona, Homestead, PBIR.

Bob does a great job with the supersolo group. As well as all of the members of that group really make an effort at keeping the high skill/safety level in the group.

In some organizations I feel like complaining about another driver may not really accomplish much. I say this as there is a particular driver in a different club that I've had issues with, and the organizers didn't do much about it even with video evidence of the issue. However, that same driver has never been let into supersolo. Social club politics don't seem to be as much of a factor if the driving skill/safety isn't there.

If you, as a member of the SS group, take a legitimate complaint to Bob, he is going to listen to you, and act accordingly. If multiple people have the same complaint, that person may not be in the SS group the next time they run with PBOC. One of the only groups where I've heard the organizer say they would pull somebody for "bad" conduct, and then they actually did it.

Not to mention, traffic is never really a problem. Even at an event like Winterfest where they had a huge number of registrants for the event. If somebody is slowing you down, just go around them. It adds an entirely new dimension for those of us with low HP cars when we can zip around that slow car in a corner, just to have them drag race on the straight, get back around, and then have to get back around them in the next corner...

I know I'm a much better driver in terms of awareness for having run with this group.

I'd love to run in the Super Solo group but I am having oprblems with finding a seat for 6 point harness in my car and that fits my body.

The Sparco EVO3 fits me but most do not think it will fit in a 09 Carrera S due to the width of this seat. Plus it does not have the side airbag so I would have to have the side air bag turned off. Then I was informed by my State Farm agent that I would no longer be covered on the street if I disable the side air bag. Porsche Sport Buckets w/ aide airbag bolt into my car but they sit up way to high and really do not properly fit me as I am too tall for them.

ARRRRGH!

Did they change the dimentions on the 997 seats? I have an EVO 3+ on the pass. side of my 986. It's tight but it fits. I miss running SS with PBOC, I wish that they would come further north.
