From my memory, most of the accidents happened during the early runs on Saturday.

I'm certainly not the expert here, but, I think the extremely cool weather on Saturday morning may have caught a couple of people off guard. The forecast for the day had been "warm" with highs in 60's. Folks went out that morning, sun shining and ?maybe? thinking the track was going to warm up more than it did.

In the afternoon, the sun was out and no wind. Warmed up nicely and there seemed to be fewer accidents.

Actually, most of the issues were on Friday. And most were single car mechanical incidents. A few over agressive drivings, and two cups into each other on the downhill into T12, but mostly mechanical.

Personally, I think people are starting to get a bit lazy on their pre-race techs and check overs. From what I heard, many of these issues could have/should have been avoided. And while club racing does not require a tech inspection, you would think it would be common sense.

Re carnage: Keep in mind this was the first race of the season for many drivers. It may have even been their first time on track in several months.

RA in not the most forgiving track to shake the rust off at.

No matter the weather, Road Atlanta claims many who challenger her.

If anybody happened to capture a picture of my blue cup, I would love to see it. This was my first full race, so I was running around like crazy, and didn't get to take any.

There was a lot of carnage. I was not far behind the black car that went into the wall out of 12, on the first session of the first day. It was like Days of Thunder. Everyone fanned out through the smoke and debris. Before turn one, a car in front of me swerved out of the way to miss his front tire rolling down the track!

Great time though. I will never forget this race, being my first start! You C4 guys are crazy!
