Nah, he probably had a mechanical (Temp?) issue. He faded back very quickly and DNFed (Couldnt find Darren later to see what happened)
Its a 993 TT (J class). Usually much faster than my H car at most tracks but the momentum of the fast corners T12 through T5 allow the Cayman to "hang on". That 993TT has to run VERY heavy, so that hurts the handling quite a lot.

I had a great time. I'm editing pictures right now - I'll start a Road ATL Pic thread. I tried to get as many RL'ers as I could . .

The wet enduro was really fun. Jack and Doug started 36th and 37th due to gridding late, then made up a lot of ground.
Don't forget, Mid Ohio registration opens tonight!

Look at Charlie Boyer first time out in the SPbox, great time. Is it the record for that class?

Well, the GTC2 car shouldn't have been in our Enduro. It was a screwup by regional that gave them the wrong sticker. If GTC2 makes the cut then GTC1, I, J and K should have had too.

Fun race, had to chase the field too after they gave me a Black Flag for passing that lapped car when the pace car came out. Isn't the pace car supposed to be followed by race leader?

Kicking butt again I see in Stock H! Very nice lap. At least you were not placed at the rear of the pack like we were at Sebring! You won the Enduro in my opinion.

At that speed the irrelevant (in the dry) kink in the back straight made the nose start skidding wide (therefore I lifted) when it was wet. Afterwards when just damp I was able to floor it all the way through.

Thanks (to ABell too). The youtube vid has the audio out of sync (not sure why). The vimeo vid works better:

There was a significant fire in one of the cars in Group 2.
We later tried to find him to see if he was OK, but aparently had already gone.
Anyone know how he was?

Yes, every time that badass C2 car blasted past me (and it was several) it occurred to me how odd it was that he was racing in our group. I agree, Gomez won our enduro.

And yes again, I would think that the pace car comes out on the track in front of the leader and everybody else comes around...

I saw the car on fire, and have it on video as well. On my 2nd time past, he was out of the car standing by the wall with arms crossed, not receiving any medical care, so I assumed he was fine.

Although I set the track record for SPBOX this weekend, it isn't the time above your post. That was a rain filled enduro time. Rain is a great equalizer (and as you know, there are no Hoosier Wets allowed in SPBOX ).

I'll continue to figure out the car...

Hey Carlos...what a horrible start by me on Sprint 2. Jeez. I knew it was bad but wow. I was on the brakes when the green was out. Reason for the DNF was I lost 4th gear. Hopefully minor issue to fix. It was a good weekend though overall. It was my first time to RA so I had a lot to learn. I was frustrated on Friday but by Saturday I was feeling much better. I finally decided today to get rid of the 10 year old bilstein rsr's and the 400lb springs for some moton club sports. Should help my fat pig hustle a little better. Next race for me is VIR so I will have a few months for some upgrades!!

No problem Darren! I literally almost bumped you or thought about going through the inside grass; but full throttle 2nd gear while still turning would have been a bad idea!
Good thing we had the inside line, otherwise the damage would have been serious!
I will do my best to try to be at VIR and see that red pig hustle!
