OT: Trailer tire PSI advice

With some brands the maximum is too much. My Goodyear Marathon's (225/15) list a max. of 65 which would bounce my Featherlite 3110 all over the road even with my 2500 lb. 996 onboard. I run them 50-55 cold....

My Load E tires say 80# max. I set them to 80.
"Always keep the tire manufacturer’s maximum recommended air pressure in all your tires, including the spare. This is an important requirement for tire safety and mileage. Tire sidewall stamping information will tell you the recommended cold air pressure."

80 with the 10plys on the stacker.
Something I just picked up, and is illuminating, is a $90 wireless pressure monitor from Tire Rack. Screws on the valve stem and the receiver plugs into a lighter socket.

I also have a 3110, with the 4800# axles and 16's rated for 80lbs. I run 75 cold. and get no bounce with 4000lbs. on board(car, tires fuel). Empty it bounces like mad though. The tire and trailer industry are both adamant about recommending near max pressure. The longer and faster the trip the more critical.

Tires
Not meaning to "hijack" this thread, but while on the subject of tires, need to replace the tires on my F-250 Ford diesel. Any suggestions as to the brand of tire you feel is best? One place I do not want to skimp on is truck and/or trailer tires.

A 3/4 ton truck like yours should use load range E tires, nearly all of which are commercial use biased with lousy road manners. One of the very few exceptions is the Pirelli Scorpian STR A...Awesome tire, on my second set and love them

Bridgestone VSteel Rib 265. The only truck tire I will use.

Take all suggestions, go to "Tire Rack" and read the test results and customer reviews, great resource

My '03 truck only has two lighter sockets. Only usually use one for the XM.
