Default TAG Turbo engine

I was wondering if someone here might be able to shed some light on an engine I have. It is a block and heads of the Porsche built F1 engine that powered McLaren's MP4 chassis. I have contacted Porsche Motorsports in California along with McLaren but have been unsuccessful in getting any information.

My engine is TTE PO 1-14 and I believe that it was used in 1983 or 84. I would love to know the history of this engine as I have had it for some time and plan on keeping it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, so you're the one who outbid me on that eBay auction years ago? I guess I didn't expect to honestly get it for the $500 or so I actually bid.

The TAG (Technique Avant Garde) Mc Laren-Porsche F1 had a 1.5L twin turbo V6 around 800HP, see attached picture of the car with the engine in the back ground:

FYI, the MP4/4 (the one that absolutely dominated the 1988 season in Senna and Prost's hands) had the Honda V6, the TAG-Porsche engine was in the MP4/3, MP4/2 and MP4/1. All three of those cars were still very successful though. If it was in fact an '84 then it's from an MP4/2, if from '83, then an MP4/1.

I have access to some old Autocourse editions from that vintage. I'll have a look and see what I can find. I doubt they'll include what engine was doing the work, but I know they give a lot of technical info. Congrads on your acquisition. Very cool.

The one on display at the Porsche Museum. Hard to believe this thing is only 200cc more displacement than what's in my Radical. (Note what I'd love to get my hands on/into in the third photo.)

I honestly didn't expect a response. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of it although it's identical to the pictures from the Motorsport Collector minus the valve covers.

Perhaps! It was a few years ago and the guy that sold it to me was very close to me in so-cal. I remember that when I saw it online I thought no way it's real. I walked up to the guys mobile home and almost turned around. Lucky for me I didn't and it was in fact the real deal.

Can you believe they wan't 10k for it!

I just found what might be considered a picture of my engine. The picture is very bad and is of my drums but you can see it if you squint.
