Open up the circuits. Let's see high speed corners, with paved runoff so they can really go for it, and beyond.

Agreed. Super-slow chicanes are a disaster, especially since they do not present passing opportunities. Modern F1 tracks really suck.

The circuits are as much a part of the problem as anything.

Good luck getting that.
Think H. Tilke had a bad experience with his Trabant on the Autobahn's sweeping corners and decided he'd keep the F1 drivers safe and keep it out of his 'fantastic' F1 track layouts.
