Allow refueling and allow the teams to start with whatever fuel load they want.

Bring the front spoiler(s) well inside the wheels and lower the rear spoiler.

Slightly increase points available for P1 thru P10 and add 1 point for every position gained in the race (but cap somewhere between 5 and 10).

Add 250hp+
Add another tire manufacturer.
Decrease Aero 40%

Forces cars to slide around more, increases tire wear, increases pit stops, increases the show, increases mistakes per lap, which in turn increases passing.

Plus when is more power NOT a good thing?

Are they using all the power they have now?
Short shifting to preserve fuel and motor now. Can't power out of corners or dive too deep into turns or risk hazing the tires.

So he wants them to dash into the pits.
Chug a beer.
Spin the wheel of destiny to see if they have to take the long or short course.
Do a lap.
Rinse and repeat.

Very nice, Bernie.

So is there a way to move forward, not back, and yield better racing?

How does <<gulp>> NASCAR compare?

To keep things interesting, they implemented in the middle of last season double file restarts. Lead guy gets to pick inside or outside. This year right before Daytona they implemented three chances at a Green White Checkered to keep races from ending under caution. It's been a game changer. They are ditching the wing that everyone hates (both for looks and for aero) within a few weeks. And they allowed more "aggressiveness" and self policing which resulted in a car flipping last week. They seem to be able to make changes very quickly.

Let there be no mistake, there is PLENTY of bitching by the dyed in the wool (denim shorts?) hard core fans since big E was running about everything from the new crop of drivers, to the shapes of the cars, to the corporateness of it.. It almost parallels these threads.

Whatever it is, people on the internet are arguing over it.

#1 Get rid of Bernie.
#2 Make them all run the super soft tires all the time. When they go off after 10 laps, there will be plenty of pit stops.
#3 Go back to steel rotors to lengthen the stopping distances so that there is more time to pass under braking.

it really seems like everyone is worried about being penalized when trying to make a pass. the stewards dont let them race.

To fix it, they should just rewind 2 years before all the cockamamie rule changes mucked it up.

If they don't want to do that, keep the cars the same and force 2 mandatory pits without banning refueling. So a car could actually run the whole race on one fuel load if they want and create endless fuel strategies if you can refuel by choice.

Bernie should be shot (in the big toe) for even suggesting the dumbest idea known to racing. That truly would be worse than the wheel of inversion. To think he actually had the nerve to say that on the record is disgusting.

Engine freeze rules are a joke. I think that having engines lasting 2 races is good, but allow teams to tweak the engine as much as you like and risk blown engines like Honda used to do for Japan Grand Prix aka Suzuka Special. For teams with a dog of an engine, you're gonna be behind the pack all year long.

So last year, I vaguely remember there was a few bouts of passing in the first few races.
Then FIA deemed the double diffuser to be legal.
All the other teams spend lots of money to install double deckers on their cars. (way to save the teams money)
Then no one can pass in all that disrupted airflow.
But by then Brawn had built up such a massive lead in the championship.
We get Button as a WDC. (will he shine this year?)
Mercedes gets tempted and buys the Brawn team. (German team driving a Japanese car. Interesting)
And that lures M. Schumacher back into F1.

Task accomplished. Schumacher's back in F1.

Get more cars on the track.
Multi class racing where speed differentials create challenges to passing.
Reduce aero.
Have tires with limited laps creating a need to preserve.

Hey.
How's about put grooves on the tires to decrease grip so the cars will have to depend more on downforce . . .
