I rechecked my figures. I got 10%...too much floatin' around in my head I reckon. Sorry again.
Missy told me about the discount. Just didn't have the cash to buy 'em all at once unfortunately.
Addiction is a cruel thing

Thanks for providing the service.

Our underwriter has considered increasing the maximum limit, but we're just not quite there yet. We've been around and survived much longer than any other DE insurer in the US. The program is healthy as it stands now, and I'm confident we'll eventually be able to offer limits over $100k as we continue to grow.

I'm working with a major PCA Region that is looking at implementing an "advanced driver training/safety course" that our underwriters might consider providing a discount for. It's too early to say at this point, but PCA National has their eyes on this and this idea has potential of developing into National program. If this program becomes a reality, I'm sure you'll hear about it from us and PCA.

Need help, especially from you guys with $200k+ rides running DE events.

Here's the issue. I got a call from Mike Katz - very nice gentleman - letting me know he couldn't insure my DE events anymore... (He was covering my GT3 last year for example.)

Why? I asked.

Because I have a new 991 RS.

What-up? I said.

Value. Too much.

So here's the explanation: Insurers appear to all max out at $150k. (All of the ones I've found so far - Ontrack, Lockton.) In the case of an incident, they write the car off at 75% of 'appraised' value. That means $112,500 in repair bills for a $200k car and you lose the ride in exchange for a check for $135k.

Since this doesn't sit well with most owners, it turns into a legal battle...

So what does everyone who owns a new RS (or a Speciale, or a 675LT, etc.) do? I have a hard time believing that everyone is riding at risk. But that's what I'll be doing, for the first time, on May 5th... Unless you guys have some suggestions.

These are the guys you want to use if you want to insure your car at full value. They can can write policies for up to $4M. Good coverage and good value. Easy, too.

This is Jerod from theOpenTrack... one of our very thoughtful members just sent me this thread to answer some of the questions out there...

We do cover cars up to $4m... the website will let you bind instantly up to $1.5m with zero additional underwriting.

Secondly, we cover ALL non-competition driving at our 65+ listed tracks... this means you don't have to register for events or even need them to be a sanctioned event... if you are on a covered track, in a listed car, driving for non-competition purposes you are covered.

Our policy is also a full 12 month annual policy... drive as much as you want.

If there are other questions let us know, big update coming to the website this week to help make things clearer based on member feedback so keep the ideas coming!

My cell is 843-801-2788, never hesitate to call, its always on me.

I just signed up with OpenTrack as well. Really was the only option for me given the number of events I'm planning to do, 1/3 of which are in Canada, and the value I wish to insure for on my 2011 GT3RS. Ben and Jerod have been super helpful and responsive in all of my and others communications. Nothing but a positive experience thus far.

Love the idea of a single annual premium with the option for Canada....unfortunately, my car is:

A. Not a supercar
B. Not an exotic
C. Not worth anything close to the minimum coverage amount
