My question was simply around how much of a compromise one is making in comfort for 7 TPP more, but there is no doubt that for 3.5 seconds of extra protection an extra $100 is short money. The same story on the east coast, they seem to think the 2 layer is sufficient, but if the added layer doesnt compromise things, seems like a no-brainer to me.

I have a 3 layer suit made with the same level of Nomex that Stand21 uses and it is very cool (relatively) temperature wise. No way will you ever make a full body suit great to wear in 100 degree weather but you can do something to make it nicer. Choose light colors. I have three suits and by far and away the worst one in the heat is the black suit even though it's only two layers. It just sucks in heat like crazy.
