Default Looking for a PCA Spec 944

After watching the Spec 944s at Sebring PCA race I am considering buying into this series, anyone know of a legal PCA Spec 1-2-3 legal, log book race car for sale?
Thanks
Rich

Rich,

SP1, SP2 and SP3 are all different series with different price points.

SP1 = NASA 944 spec- All cars are 2.5L cars at the same prep level and on the same Toyo Tires at 2600lbs min.
SP2 = 944 cup, 2.5L, 2.7L cars to 4-5 prep levels with performance balanced by weight. Open tires
SP3 =944 supercup, S2, Turbo, 968 to 2-3 prep levels with performanc balanced by weight. open tires.

In general SP1 is the cheapest initial cost and operating costs. SP2 is a bit more and SP3 is more still due to the more powerfull cars.

I recommend that you pick an SP class and then find a car that fits that.

Just a little more personal info, I ran a 968 Club Sport in PCA for 8 years before running my early 911, so have knowledge of 944 series cars and modifications that work, again looking for a SP class PCA car probably SP2 to control costs a bit, need a competitive car that is legal for PCA.
Thanks all
Rich

If you want a SP2 car, talk to Dave Deracola. He has a handle on many of the cars that have either been running or are running on the East Coast.

Edit: Did you buy Dave's car?

Here is a possible 944 Cup car for you:

1983 944 with a 2.5L engine. It has oversized adjustable Weltmeister sway bars with new bushings, Koni adjustable shocks, 450 lb springs, turbo radiator, Accusump, cone air filter, steel brake lines, aluminum fly wheel, quick release steering wheel, new rod bearings. Has a short 5th gear. Almost new rotors and three sets of wheels, 2 sets of 15 inches (one has Toyo Proxes with one heat cycle, other is Hoosier Hwets with one heat cycle on them. Price is $5K. Has log books for SCCA (although since I had it in '03, current log books are PCA and NASA.

Let me know if u are interested?

That's a steal! What a great way to get into 944Cup at the start of the 2010 race season for a very modest initial investment.
