Who wants a TRG Cup Car

The 09 grand-am cars are greatly different than the 08 spec. they basically are Cup S Models with narrow rear fenders. Most teams would flair the rear fenders to the maximum 74 in width which is 1 to 2 inches wider than the cup s and the 2010 cup cars. They would enlarge the rear wheel arches to allow for the 2.5 in ride hieght rule. A lot of teams also seem welded the chassis. The top cars also have the RSR rear suspension, different brake master set up, ect.. They are very tweaked and expensive cars. a Stock 09 grand-am spec car was 220k plus 15 shipping and THEN needed all the mods to make it competetive. Pretty cool cars.

I'm not actively selling the ex-Keen/Lux #86 '08 Grand Am cup, but I always say that for the right price I would sell anything. It's '08 specs, not as wide as the '09 so faster at high speeds (Daytona) and runs the same size wheels and tires (inner fenders are worked on).
The '09 Championship #87 is an '07 chassis, it's probably the most highly developed and tweaked cup car ever, and if it sells will probably be very expensive.

The #86 always seemed to be a good car...The #88 is also available if you want one of those team cars. I can help get you in touch with the owner if you are interested. That is also an '08 with narrow body. Also have the '07 with good history at a very fair price, cost was $287k to build when new, so the Grand Am legal cars are a little stronger when it is all said and done. As far as modified cars go, the Tafel Racing cars were probably the most modified from stock configuration.

How about my slightly used, never raced, 10 hour 2009 GT3 CUP CAR... with spares kit, extra set of wheels, and more at $162,000. You can then put our own graphics on the car and have a fresh never raced car! I would do my best to get you tickets to watch the race knowing your own car is clean, waxed and safe in your garage.

Cory, hope you guys didn't have to work to hard to fix the car after the test. What kind of axles are you guys running, did you do all the suspension upgrades?. Good luck for the race.

There was a lot of rebuilding but it was mostly typical 24hr prep. The rear quarter was the primary damage that had to be repaired from the crash. Fixing a custom flaired quarter is def harder than just welding back on a stock one. The car is a factory 09 grand-am model with all the suspension upgrades. We decided to go with metelore axles. Stupid expensive but still cheaper than the pankels and should be just as good. they really are the only choice if running the ride height low enough to take advatage of the 2.5 in rule.

Fryd.........true but with a landed cost of $200K range you still have to put in approx $$70K - 90K to make a it a true front running Rolex GT car..........Gordon and Autometrics bought the TRG car for a fair price and saved themselves a lot of time and money vs prepping a new one.
Good luck down there Gordon and Cory, and you too Bernie!! Wish I was there!
But we are saving ourselves for the 12 Hours of Sebring!

Cory, I believe PMNA will request that the new 2010/2011 Cup car be eligible for Rolex GT competition in 2011......so I assume that was what Fryd was referring to.
And yes, I hope you make Sebring as well. I think a Rolex GT Porsche should do quite well in the ALMS GT-C Class! Would you run the Daytona car?

Our car is all set for now but I would love to field another car for the ALMS GT-C class if anyone is interested.
As far as ALMS's definition of a "Pro" is.......a Pro in their description is more or less a factory driver, with a history of success driving for a Manufacturer so there seems to be some flexibility as to how they class some Non-Pros.
