Wow tough decesion...the grounds at Daytona are beautiful and probably more places to go and easiey to get to than Sebring. But walking the Padock at Sebring is very cool too. Grand Am is also very into fan involvment with autograph signing sessions however they do this too at Sebring.

i've been to both, and am going to Daytona this year. possibly sebring in march, but the field size worries me most about sebring. the prototype competition is light. the last time i was there, the ALMS field was packed and it was absolutely fantastic.

then again, you do get 12 extra hours of racing at Daytona

Wow, I did not stay at the track last year. It was hot during the day. I have sat on my couch watching folks in ski jackets at the 24, in the rain. I'll take the couch

Honestly I started watching a little more Rolex Grand AM racing last year. I felt the racing in the Daytona Prototypes and the Koni cars was closer and more exciting. The grounds at Daytona and veiwing areas from inside the pits are awesome. Sebring is more dirty and a lot more walking.

Definitely Sebring. The weather, the track, and cars using it as a test for the 24 Hours of LeMans makes it the superior race. Just my $.02, YMMV.

Been to both. Always have more fun at Sebring. Showing up Thursday and camping at the track is a must.

Alas, there used to be the best of both worlds........the best cars running AT Daytona. Was lucky enough to do that twice, the first time being in '93 when I likely witnessed the fastest car ever to run there in the Toyota. Sorry I didn't make it when I was a kid and the 935's were out in force.

Daytona is just a race. Sebring is a race and a circus. Both are good races, but Sebring is insane and fun. I don't know how many people go to Daytona, not many. Sebring gets 170,000 I think. Most of them don't even know there is a race going on. Need to do it at least once to experience it. I've been to both and would definitely do Sebring.

I can't do this till next year, but if I wanted to go with my 5 year old to Daytona, how do I do this? What tickets do I buy (there's 2 day infield/grandstand for $45 or 4 day/garage for $85). It's brief on details as to what you get for each. Do people camp at Daytona or just go back to a hotel?

If you do Daytona, I feel that the garage access is a must. It's a $35 upgrade to the 2-day ticket. I always buy the 4-day and am usually there on Fri; afternoon for the Koni (now Continental Tire) Series race. Some people camp, others back to the hotel. Take your pick.

I recommend that you don't leave the track on Sat. until you're done for the day. DIS usually shuts down the infield parking before the race start and doesn't open it back up until late in the evening. Ask me how I know!
